2 Reissues available now: Our glassie Azoth & Euterpe Sequence

A couple of re-issues to melt your brain, and/or cool your worries by harsh ambience, scree flute haze, and primitive gliss guitar dronery from Ciliau Aeron, West Wales -one of these is 27 years old!
According to Forced Exposure-way back:
“Excellent debut album by two mysterious musicians from Wales/UK. Their music sounds like they have adapted parts of ‘Sternklang’ by Karlheinz Stockhausen for ten distorted guitars. Their focus is upon pure noise with an intent to locate, draw out and revel in it’s hitherto hidden harmonies. Using the rough sound of variegated tape-manipulations with some acoustic instruments such as flutes and woodblocks they enjoy to produce feedback drenched drone chaos that flutters and filters into a transmutary experience. Entirely conceived in an isolated part of Wales, their environment is both actually and musically expansive and/or desolate at turns characterized by the cyclical coloration of Nature.”
& Ed Pinsent of The Sound Projector in 1998  wrote:
“Further minimalist excursions into terror and strangeness, this one (originally) released by Tony Dale in Victoria; four long abstract tracks, including Gammae from their first single. The longest and best is the 20 minute ‘Insist upon the Way’, an astonishing meditation of noise that indeed suggests Dr John Dee at work in his reverbatory, amazed and terrified by the unstoppable power he has unleashed. A beautiful package, all sleeve components printed on textured cream art paper decorated with mad alchemical images and a lengthy quote from Eugenius Philalethes’s Lumen de Lumine, an impenetrable 17th century text.”

Like Hyanthe All Teares- A Radiophonic Dream and text based on Thomas Vaughan’s alchemystical writing

400 years ago tomorrow, April 17th 1621, Wales’ foremost alchemist was born. Thomas Vaughan has long been my passion, subject of research and creative stimuli. It is fitting that today  I can announce our new project.

Like Hyanthe All Teares will be a limited edition (approximately 100 copies) Risograph perfect bound book circa 100 pages with colour alchemical illustrations throughout, original essays and selections of Vaughan’s text including excerpt translations from Vaughan’s unpublished private alchemical diary.  The project will see new sound worlds accompanying it in the shape of a limited edition cassette. Artists signed-up to develop works include Phosphene: Sharron Kraus: Tristan Rhys Williams: Richard Craig: Dafydd Roberts & Johann Wlight. Individually and jointly they create a radiophonic dream.

There is no public funding for this risky labour of love which is why I turn to you now. An Early Bird pre-order will help me cover some of the production costs, reprographic and license fees in the main.

All those taking advantage of the Early Bird offer will receive acknowledgement in the print copy dedication for what is sure to be an attractive, idiosyncratic and one of a kind offering.

I will be humbled and grateful to you should you choose to commit NOW for your copy, £30.00 including postage worldwide.

Please pay by PayPal by following this link:

For anyone with a 2020/21 Bandcamp subscription to Listen to the Voice of Fire your copy is included in the subscription. Please note that this is a pre-order, I expect the editions to go fairly swiftly however-the publication date is not set and is due for November 2021. I’ll hold this early bird rate open for  a while. For postage reasons and fairness I can only accept single copy orders.

Llanerch The Trees AND subscription only tape series

For anyone interested in the upcoming Llanerch The Trees release; I have just received the booklets and WOW, they feel great. I shall be selling these with tape only (and your DL code) for £15 per copy postage paid in the UK -overseas will be additional-DM me if you have not already. There will only be 30 of these…

I am toying with the idea of setting up a subscription series for the tapes/booklets series-is this something that you would be interested in?

There are a few reasons for this idea. It would give me a litmus test of who wants these peculiar things, to reach and engage with you directly, and know where you are in the world-curious as well as to provide some additional income for future planned releases.

I was thinking of something like £25 per annum, which would give you 1 tape/booklet, and a subsequent percentage- eg.10-15% off all other new and archival releases.

What is coming? After Llanerch The Trees there will be: The Shining Pyramid booklet and multi artist tape, with essays on Arthur Machen, John Cowper Powys and Welsh occulture imagined in sound; The Surface of Past Time multi artist tape and booklet (think horse magic spiralling out through psychogeography Welsh natural philosophy the imaginal and arcane), In A Strange Garden- a Listen to the Voice of Fire collection of live recordings from the last few years, a release with Andrew Leslie Hooker and of course the third instalment of the Unland project.

So, please let me know your thoughts on the proposed subscription series. You can reply here or directly. I know I am not there, is the cost okay, too much-too little! is the value weak, or do you prefer just digital. And what would you like to get out of a subscription series. I am open to ideas and contributions.

Kind regards

Supranature field research

I hope you’re doing okay. Several exciting release and streaming events in the pipeline. But before them, I wanted to give you a heads-up on micro edition tape & booklet that we’re releasing at Autumn Equinox.

A West Wales supranatural field research project, expect skeins of lament through veils of incorporeal utterance. A limited edition of only 30 cassettes with handsewn & letter press on recycled medieval laid paper booklet detailing the research project, second in the unland/annwfn series, and available on the Listen to the Voice of Fire imprint, Llanerch The Trees brings together two spectral entities known as itdreamedtome and blodeuedd.

I’m expecting proofs back in the next week or so and I will be taking pre-orders soon after. The initial draft looks. feels and sounds lovely, a treat that will vanish into the ether.
